Backgammon Tournaments

Tournaments in online backgammon are very exciting and challenging. They can also bring you more money you might get in regular tournaments.
Basically, an online backgammon tournaments comprises several players. The winner of each round advances to the next round, while the loser is eliminated (single elimination). Knockout matches are played until one player emerges as the tournament winner.
Tournaments can be :
- static length - the matches length is the same until the final round
- progressive length - the matches get longer when a player advances though the tournament
To join a tournament, you must pay a buy-in and a fee. ( the buy-in will go to the total prize of the tournament)
There are 3 major types of tournaments :
1. Sit&Go Tournaments
Sit and Go tournaments are offered for Backgammon, Hypergammon and Nackgammon. The buy-in differ from game to game, but the minimum is 1.50 USD. Sit & Go tournaments will start when the required number of people have registered for the tournament. All games are randomly assigned. The Sit&go Gammon tournaments are available 24/7.
2. Regular Tournaments
There are prearranged events, with a fixed starting hour that is available on the PartyGammon website. The buy-in is added to the prize pool, while the entry fee is kept by PartyGammon.. The prize pool is the product of the buy-in and the number of participants in a tournament. Please check the specific tournament lobby for the exact entry fee amount. If the total number of players is not 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512…, byes are randomly given to players to skip the first round.
3. Freerolls
These are the same as the Regular Tournaments, bit the Buy-in is 0 USD ! There are daily backgammon freerolls at PartyGammon
