Getting around in the PartyGammon Lobby

Basics

The PartyGammon lobby is the main window of the software you will see after you log in. It contains usefully information about your account, all active backgammon matches and tournaments and other info regarding the games. The lobby contains also the Player Rating Legend and other news.

The lobby is formed by 3 important columns with navigation bar on top of that. The navigation provides a good way to aces all the important features of your account, links to deposit and withdraw money, game rules and help.

Left column

The left column has information regarding your account, your money and PartyPoints accumulated. It has also a section with news and information from PartyGammon

Middle Column

The middle column is a general overview of the PartyGammon games, seen as a navigation tree ( very similar to a Windows explorer left column). Here you will see all the Real money and Play Money games available , including the tournaments for all the backgammon games available at PartyGammon. If you click on a + symbol, you'll see more details from a specific folder. The games are displayed in categories, depending on their limits. Click once the limit you want to see on the right column the available games. If you want to add it to your favorites games - you can click on the right button on that category and then press Add to favorites.

Right Column

The right column ( also known as the game window) contains a scrollable list of all the games available in a certain folder. Each game is divided in four columns that present :

a) .Name of the owner of the game ( the one who initiated the game). He also has his rating color next to his name.

b) Name of the Opponent in the game (the one you joined a special game). He also has his rating color next to his name.

c) The stake (limit). The stake is the initial value of the game. The limit is the maximum level a game could get if the doubling cube is used by one of the players.

d) Speed of the game ( Normal, Fast or Express)

  • Normal speed is 45 seconds in the local timer and 3 minutes - global timer.
  • Fast speed is 30 seconds in the local timer and 2 minutes - global timer.
  • Express speed is 15 seconds in the local timer and 1 minutes - global timer.

If you want to join a game, you just need to select the game in the right column and then double click it. It it is a game in progress- then you will be able just to watch it. If it is just a proposal , you can join the game and start playing !

If you are in the Tournament section, you will see columns that show you the tournament ID or name, the date, type of the tournament ( regular, express, etc), the Buy-in, the number of the players registered and the status of the tournament ( announced, registering, playing or completed). In the bottom of the same window you will see the tournament info button , where you can see more details about the tournament.
