How to play in the online Backgammon board

Opening the board

There are 2 ways in which you can join a single game :

a) You may join a game created by someone. Just check the Lobby - in the right column, and you will what games are open - in the Opponent section it just writes Join Game . Just click that game twice or click once and then the Join Button at the bottom of the window.

If you want to see just the games you can join, you may click the option " Show Playable Boards" that is on the top of that column. In this way you'll see only the games where someone waits for an opponent. The advantage by joining a game is that you know exactly what is the value of the player you are up against, and you can see the stake, the limit and the speed right away. The disadvantage is that you can't change the conditions of that game ( For example you want a faster game). You need to be quick to select a game, otherwise you might have the surprise for someone to take your place before you've clicked.

b) You may create a game. Just go in the lobby and click the button Create Game. You can then specify the Stake, the Limit ( if you permit playing with the doubling cube), the Gammon Type, the Gammon Speed and other option. You can also select if you want it as a private game (no one else can watch it). You may also let the opponent to change the established conditions. The advantage is that you can select the conditions. The disadvantage is that you could play against some very good player that that selected to play with you. You can't select your opponent.

After you've joined a game or a partner has accepted you offer, you will be sited at a Backgammon board. The stake and the limit will always be shown in a box underneath the board

Your homeboard is always to your right side. The roll dice button is on the right side of the board and it will throw the dices for you for the next move. You may always check the Auto-roll option from upper left - this will prevent you from clicking the button every time it is your turn. This can be a very usefully option to activate.

You can move your checkers by picking them up and then placing them on the right spots. Actually the software is helping you in showing the possible moves with some small arrows. It is very important to note that you can always change you mind regarding your moves. Just press the button Undo (right side of the board) and move your checkers otherwise. After you have finished all you moves don't forget to press the button DONE on the right part of the window. The clock will be continuing counting until you press the Done button !!!

You can always Resign during a game. Just use the button with the same name in the upper right corner.

You can increase the value of the game, by using the Doubling Cube. You can do that only on your turn BEFORE you roll the dice ( so you'll need to uncheck the Auto-Roll option if that has been checked). When you want to do that - just click the Double Button on the left side of you board , just next to the doubling cube.

On the bottom of the board you'll have the timers - showing the local and global timer. The gray timer on the left is for the player playing with the white checkers and the orange one on the right is for the player playing with the brown checkers. In the timer boxes, you'll see a bar labeled with 0 to 45 seconds ( if you're playing on normal speed) - this is the local timer. The round timer is your global timer.

Also in the bottom section on your right side there is a chat room, where you can talk with your opponent.

On the upper left side of the window you'll see some other options. Auto-roll, if you don't want to press the Roll button all the time when it is your turn.
